Packaging

Bottles (all sizes): UV-resistant amber glass with stainless steel roller and black plastic cap. For the 10ml and 30ml bottles, I chose a specialist stainless steel roller and cap I source from a medical supplies company for smoother application and better leak protection. I'm looking into plastic-free cap alternatives but have not found any at present. In the UK, I run a bottle reuse scheme.

Experience Pack

The Experience Pack comes in a small box made in the UK of recycled card (post-consumer waste). The inside is filled with kiln-dried wood wool (no relation to wool!). These fine paper shreds are excellent padding and are compostable and recyclable.

They're shipped in an plastic-free eco padded mailer. These envelopes are biodegradable and recyclable, and use a protective inner liner made of paper instead of bubble wrap, and the company that makes them is a B corp.

Pocket Perfumes

Depending on the destination of shipping, my 10ml Pocket Perfume bottles come in either a small box made of recycled card and filled with recyclable, compostable kiln-dried wood wool (no relation to wool!), without any external packaging at all, or in a glassine (paper) bag which is made in the UK. In use since the late 19th century, glassine is a 100% paper product that's compostable, biodegradable, and recyclable. Despite appearances, it is not coated in any plastic or wax - it's simply processed in a way that makes it leak-resistant.

Full-Size Perfumes and Sets

My full-size (30ml) perfumes come in a large letter-sized cardboard postal box. The boxes are biodegradable, recyclable, and made in the UK from FSC Certified material containing at least 70% recycled content.

All Perfumes

All perfumes come with an ingredients card/information card printed on recycled cardstock. The cardstock is made in the UK, of 80% post consumer waste, and is recyclable.

I stamp the packaging and other materials myself with a custom stamp made in the UK from responsibly sourced, European grown beechwood, using a refillable vegan inkpad.

Shipping labels are made of recycled paper. The perfume labels unfortunately are not (for now), as I had to choose oil-resistant, spill-resistant, liquid-resistant plastic-coated labels and I could not find any made of recycled and biodegradable materials that fulfilled the oil-resistance criteria. I'm continuing to search for a recycled paper or biodegradable alternative.

My priority is always to choose vegan materials that are as sustainable as possible and choosing small, independent businesses where possible. Most of my packaging materials come from a family-run firm in Lancashire, UK that has been in the recycled paper business since 1991. Above all, I've chosen to use minimal packaging. My aim is to be low waste by design: by eschewing the excess packaging many cosmetics use in the first place, I avoid as much waste as possible.
